A few outfits from last week

Here are a few outfits from last week. Everything is from Lane Bryant except the striped dress.  That was purchased from Saks off Fifth.  The black flat sandals are Nine West.  The wedge sandals are Reaction by Kenneth Cole.  The summer weather had me feeling very flirty, so dresses/skirts were worn three of the five work days.

Henri Bendel Sip & Shop with Everyday Runway (Parker Simmons)

Recently, I went to an event at Henri Bendel that was hosted by the blogger Everyday Runway.  I have been trying to get out more and socialize.  So after remembering last minute that I had RSVP’d to the event, I turned my car around and raced down to Lenox Mall.  I was completely unprepared for this event since I had completely forgotten about it!  I was not remotely dressed in anything that I wanted to be seen at a social event in!  I was somewhat horrified, but I sucked it up and showed my face anyway.  Parker Simmons of Everyday Runway was such a great hostess.  I enjoyed chatting with her about all of the Henri Bendel items.  We also chatted about some boutique favorites such as Trapp Candles which are my favorite. I browsed the store and purchased a cute mug that caught my eye almost immediately.  I love mugs, glasses and random water bottles.  Anyway, I stayed for about 45 minutes, then made my exit.

The next morning, I got a phone call that I had actually won the drawing for the purse that they were giving away.  I was so excited.  I never win anything really so it was a shock.  I almost did not even bother entering, but am glad I did.  I believe the purse is called the Whitney Crossbody Tote.  I love the color. It is going to be perfect with so many of my spring looks.

All in all, I had a wonderful time and look forward to getting out to more social events.

Fragrances that I have been loving

I have so many body sprays that I honestly thought about not buying any new perfumes but I really like having a variety.  I’m pretty big on roller balls as well because I can just throw them in my purse and they are less expensive. I believe that I mentioned before that I have almost every single Marc Jacobs sent in roller ball form and I love those.

This past month, I had decided to buy a few new full sized fragrances for the summer.  Now, the Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet I have had for a while and I absolutely love this scent. No matter how much I try to change up my fragrances, I really love floral and clean smells.  I don’t like musky or overpowering scents at all.  Keeping that in mind, my next favorite is Jennifer Anniston. This has also been a favorite that I have had for a while in roller ball form.  I went ahead and bought the large bottle.  It wasn’t very expensive so I consider it a good deal.

During Sephora’s fragrance sales where they offered 3x’s the beauty points, I purchased two scents.  The first is Chloe’s Love Story.  This smells soooo good! This is definitely a classic scent for me.  It’s light, floral and slightly sweet.  I can spray it without fear of feeling that the scent will become overwhelming throughout the day.  I have worn this a lot since I purchased it.

The final scent that I purchased is Marchesa Eau de perfume.  This is a different scent for me which is what I was looking for when I purchased it.  It’s still very clean, but not necessarily floral.  When I first smelled it, I thought it smelled “soapy”, but sweet.  It’s a very unique smell.  I sprayed it in the store, then walked around for a day with it on.  The more the day went on, the more I really liked it.  It was just….different.  I have been enjoying my new fragrances a lot.  What are your signature scents?

Saturday Makeup

Today was a wonderful day.  The sun was shining and the air was warm.  This was a gigantic welcome after the ice, snow, and cold the last few weeks.  I had a few errands to run and wanted to look my best while doing so, so here was my makeup for the day.

Bobbi Brown illuminating finishing powder compact foundation in Warm Walnut 7.5.  This is a new buy for me and I have been loving it.

Missy Lynn’s eyeshadow pallet – I just received this three days ago and I have worn it everyday.I used the the light and dark purples along with the bronze highlight color.  This pallet is gorgeous and the shadows are very pigmented. I am not sure if I was expecting it to be soooo good, but it is worth more than the price (although I am happy it wasn’t to expensive.) There was really no fall out, and the colors show up as they are in the pallet.  Sometimes I have had other purple shadows and they just look dirty or black.  I can barely see the purple, but this shows up on my skin perfectly.  Has anyone else tried this yet? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Mac’s Raizin blush – a long time favorite.

Too Faced Soul Mates blushing bronzer in Carrie & Big – Now, I admit that I am a sucker for a gimmick and if it has anything to do with my favorite television couples, it’s even better!  So this bronzer joins my Gidget and Moondoggie nail polishes in my prized gimmick possessions.  Oh, the product is not to bad either. 🙂

Clump Crusher mascara – this has become a favorite as well.

Milani’s Sangria lipstick – I can’t believe I have not worn this all winter.  Milani lipsticks are my favorite from the drugstore and this color if beautiful.

Miss Dior’s Blooming Bouquet – I will be doing a post of my favorite fragrances right now.  This is one of them.  So soft and no at all overpowering.

Hello!

I took a little break from my blog this past month just because I was in a bit of a winter funk.  As I have mentioned before, the cold weather always puts me in down mood so I really didn’t feel like doing much.  Well, I did do some shopping so I have a ton of things to share in upcoming posts.  I’m excited to say that I’m back now and will hopefully get back to my weekly posts of sharing my product hoarding habits with you all.  I will talk to you all later this week.

New Year’s Resolutions 2015

What an interesting year this has been.  This morning when I was collecting my thoughts on my goals for next year, I went back to read the ones for last year.  I must say that I did better than I thought I would, especially where this blog is concerned.  I worked hard to keep up with my goal of wanting to do one post a week. I also managed to read more for fun.  Granted, this was mostly toward the end of the year after I was finished with school but I did it none the less.  Well on to my goals for next year.

My goals for 2015 is to continue writing in this blog, work on getting healthy by drinking more water and exercising, and be happy.  Yep, pretty much the same thing as last year.  I was a total fail on the health goal last year, so I really want to put an extra effort towards this.

I hope that you all have a great year!
