Tatcha Skin Care

Finally, I’ve gotten my hands on some Tatcha products.  I’ve been wanting to try this for a while.  I had previously gotten a sample of the moisturizer from Sephora and enjoyed using it for the two or three days that I could get out of it.

Sephora has gotten in Tatcha’s Best Seller Sets of four products for a very good price.  The box set alone was the cost of what one item could cost you, so I was extremely excited.  I believe the set was about $60. I would say the size of the products were about 1/2 the size of the full product.  Not a sample size, so it’s a really good buy.  Now, I wasn’t sure how Tatcha products would work on dark skin, but that never deters me from trying anything out, so here are my opinions.

The box set contains their Pure Camellia Cleansing Oil, Polished Rice Enzyme Powder, Supple Moisture Rich Cream, and Luminous Dewy Skin Mist.  I was most excited to have the Dewy Skin mist because I had tried that out in the store several times, but I found another couple of gems in this set.

My favorite product is actually the Polished Rice Enzyme Powder.  I would have never thought I would enjoy washing my face with this product as much as I do.  I just thought that it would be a little scratchy and drying, but it’s exactly the opposite.  My face feels very soft and supple after I use it.  After the wash, of course, I use the Supple Moisture Rich Cream which is my second favorite product.  After using these, my skin just feels really soft and smooth.  It gives me a little bit of a glow without looking like a greasy mess. I can say that my powder foundation applies really well after I use these products.

The Cleansing oil is pretty good.  It gets the majority of the makeup off and it does work very well at getting mascara/eye makeup off.  Since it is used before the enzyme powder, it does exactly what it was supposed to do.

Now, finally, the Dewy Skin Mist.  This is the product that I have heard the most about and like I said…I’ve tried it so I already knew I would like it.  The spray is perfectly fine.  It doesn’t come out to heavy and it just gives a perfect refreshing mist when your skin needs it.  I didn’t really use it over any makeup.  I tended to just use it when my skin felt a little dry during the day.

All in all, great products.  I hate to say that I think they are worth the money, but IMO, they are.  I would buy the full sized versions.

Whish Beauty

Here is another product that I have been trying out for a while.  Of course, I purchased my products when they were on clearance at Ulta, however the line is still there with many choices and scents in the regular section as well. Whish says that it’s products are all natural and made with organic ingredients, which sounds great to me!  I’m always searching out organic or natural products that work well.  The products are pretty pricey which is why I jumped at the opportunity to try these clearance products.

The first products I tried were the body cream and body oil.  I really like the body oil.  The body cream was ok on it’s own, but nothing that I was overly excited about. I do love to mix the body oil and the body cream together so that it is extra smooth and moisturizing on the skin.

The second item that I tried was the Shaving cream!  O. M. G.   –  LOVE!  I don’t know what it is about this product, but I absolutely love it and it leaves my skin really smooth.  Of course, since I loved this so much, I went ahead to bought the Hair inhibiting gel and tried out the Flawless swipes as well.  The gel is a strange product, but I admit that it feels great on my skin.  It’s a little sticky feeling though.

I have just recently purchase two of their skin care products.  I purchased the Recovering Night Cream and the Restoring Face Oil.   I love these as well.  They make my face feel really soft, but the odor is something that I have to get used to.  It’s not bad, but it’s just….strange.

Anyways, for the most part, I have enjoyed using these.  Hopefully I will get to try out more..if they make their way to my favorite clearance rack.

Favorite Skin Care Items

As I get older, I have been getting more and more interested in my skin care.  I hate to admit that I don’t moisturize as much as I should, but there are a few items that have been helping me to keep my face looking nice and refreshed.

Pixi & Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse – This cleanser is great!  I love it because it easily removes all of my eye make up, but most of all, I love it because it really does moisturize my skin.  I never have to fear my dry patches showing up on my face after I use this.

Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash – This is my favorite cleanser.  I have been using it for years.  I definitely have to moisturize after I use it, but I have never had a break out using this cleanser.

Glamglow Thirsty Mud Cleanser – If you have followed my blog for some time, you will know that I absolutely love the the Thirsty Mud mask.  I have always felt it was worth the big bucks.  When they came out with the cleanser, I knew I had to give it a shot.  I really like it.  I love that it has the same smell and texture as the mask and it never leaves my skin feeling overly dry.

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser – I tend to use this one when I’m having a breakout of something.  I am fortunate that I don’t have a lot of breakouts, but when I do, this is what I use because it seems to be the most gentle of my cleansers.

I have tried many different face cleansers and these seem to best for my very dry skin.  I occasionally try some items that I find at TJ Maxx or Marshall’s, but usually they are very fragrant and often irritate my skin.

Favorite Bath Products

I’m a huge lover of all smell good things. I have a bathroom full of bar soaps, body sprays, shower gels, body scrubs…etc. My favorite place to buy new items to try is TJ Maxx or Marshall’s simply because they have a ton of products that I have never heard of..and a ton of products that I have. They are also always on a very big discount.

Bath and Body Works is, of course, a favorite among everyone! I can sometimes lose complete control in this store and leave with so many shower gels and candles that it would take forever to use them all up.  I keep the sprays and lotions to travel sizes because I can’t go through them as quickly, but I still have a ton.

Here is a picture of a few of my favorite bath items this month.

Soap & Glory’s Clean on Me shower gel. I love the smell of this. It is so fresh and it gets me all squeaky clean.

Bliss Soapy Suds Body Wash and Body Lotion in the scent Grapefruit & Aloe. This is my favorite scent by them. It may have been discontinued as I keep getting this version from Marshall’s or Saks off 5th.

Sweet Pea Shower gel and body lotion from Bath & Body Works. I love this scent. It has been around for a very long time, but I love when it makes the way into my bath product rotation again.

HydraAromotherapy Shower Bursts – Now this isn’t actually a product that you soak in, but you drop it into your shower and let the aroma just guide your senses. I often get headaches and I love to use the Headache buster one and I also love the Relax and Healing ones. I buy them from a local spa in downtown Acworth GA called Pearl’s Spa & Boutique.

Shea Butter Exfoliating Salt Scrub by The Sommerset Toiletry Company.  This stuff smells AMAZING!  Another find from Marshall’s.   I’m obsessed with it.  Not only is it really great at making my skin feel super soft, the smell is just addicting.  It’s very strong, and the scent lingers in your bathroom and on your skin for an entire day.

Very Nice Birthday

I celebrated my birthday earlier this month.  My favorite thing to do on my special day is to go to the stores and get my free gifts, use birthday gift coupons, and use up points that I have collected from  various stores over the year.  I appreciate companies like Sephora, Ulta, Torrid and Lane Bryant for having programs like this that give their customers a little bonus.  So, this year I got a full sized Clean on Me shower gel and a beautiful Urban Decay eye shadow from Ulta.  I also got a Marc Jacobs eyeliner and lipstick as well as a Stella perfume (I used some of my VIB points on this) from Sephora.  I also used one of the free travel size item coupons at Bath & Body Works to get a Paris Amour shower gel.  From Torrid, I had been looking for a new sports bra and they had two in my size on clearance, so I used my $10 birthday coupon and $10 reward coupon to buy these numbers and only came out of my pocket with $1.  Now, I know that Lane Bryant usually gives a birthday coupon, but I don’t believe I have used that yet.  One of my close friends was coming to visit this month and I had been saving it to go shopping with her, but those plans fell through so I think I better use that quick!

Again…thanks so much to these companies for the birthday treats.  It really does make my day.

pur Love Your Selfie palette

My best friend asked me to buy her an all in one palette for her birthday this year.  She wanted to not have to carry a lot of stuff in her handbag, so I went out to search for one.  Ironically, I have seen plenty of these type of palettes in the stores, but suddenly I couldn’t find a single one.  I went into Ulta, and luckily they had just gotten one in.  They said they get the majority of this type of item around the holidays.  So, of course, being the makeup obsessed person that I am…I “borrowed” this from my BFF so that I can take pictures and swatches for this blog.  The shadows are pretty buttery and swatched well.  The lighter colors may not work for me, but she’s a little lighter than me so I think she can pull it off.  The blush and highlighter are pretty good as well.  This palette also comes with mascara and gloss.  Pretty nice, if I do say so myself. Has anyone else tried this one out?

National Lipstick Day 2015

Today is National Lipstick day.  Last year, I posted the lipstick that I was wearing that day, and decided to do the same this year.   This is Flirty Fuchsia by Milani.  I love this color.  A bold lip color can make quite a statement and be a reminder of how great rocking one can be.  What lip color are you wearing today?

3 days in outfits

This was fun to do last week, so I am doing it again.  Here are three outfits from last week.  All of the clothes are from Lane Bryant.  The yellow shoes are an old classic that I purchased from Boston Store in Wisconsin about three years ago.  The strappy sandals with the flowers on top are also a classic from a few years ago. I believe they are Aerosoles, but unfortunately I believe they are past their prime.  The sandals with the gold details were featured on my blog last year.  They are from Lane Bryant.  Hope you all enjoy!

Love/Hate Tag

I recently saw this tag and thought it was pretty simple to do.  It also will be fun to come up with my list, so here I go.

10 things I love

1.  Weekends.  I’m living for them.

2.  Great music.  The kind that makes you want to sing at the top of your lungs and can’t help dancing to.

3.  Going to the beach anywhere.  There is nothing like sitting on the beach watching the water and just relaxing

4.  My house.  I just love being at home.

5.  YouTube.  I’m obsessed with daily vlogs.  I also just love that you can find anything you need to learn about.

6.  Social media.  I love reading what other people are getting into.

7.  Finding new clothes or cosmetics. You know…me being a shopping addict and all.

8.  Peace.  I love having time to myself.

9.  Summer.  It’s my favorite season.  I know it can get really really hot, but that’s better than the cold.

10.  Being genuinely happy about anything.

10 things I hate

1.  People over-complicating anything.  Keep it simple, please.  Everything doesn’t have to be so difficult.

2.  Fighting/arguing.  I just have never been a fan of cruelty or meanness.

3. Anyone taking advantage of me.

4.  Cleaning, I just deep cleaned my house and I still hurt.

5.  Cold weather

6.  Not being able to figure out this thing we call life.

7.  Diet soft drinks.  Accidentally giving me a diet drink is the one thing a restaurant can do to make me truly mad.

8.  Reality tv.  I don’t really like scripted reality.  What’s real about that?

9.  Racism/Sexism, etc.  – Anything with people hating others for who they are.  Learn to accept people’s differences.  I still struggle with understanding this kind of hatred.  It’s disgusting.

10.  Being sick.  I get so whiny.
